If you are someone like me, which I believe most of you are, we love snacking. We only wish that it could be healthier. I am not sure why, but it gives a kind of satisfaction. We may be very watchful about what we eat for our main meals, but I at least am quite careless when I choose my snacks. Let’s look at some healthy snack options that are available to us.

Apple slices with Peanut butter.

This combination is a really special one. They are like a match made in heaven. While apples are rich in fiber, nutrients, and minerals, peanut butter provides healthy fats, fiber and is a rich source of plant-based protein. That combination is all that you could have asked from a healthy snack. To top it all, the taste is a slice of heaven.

Fruits and Cottage Cheese

This is also a great combination of the vitamins, minerals, and fiber of the fruit with the protein of cottage cheese. I cup of cottage cheese could contain around 22 grams of protein. Combine that with tropical fruits like pineapple or papaya and you have a very healthy snack in place.

Kale Chips.

Kale is a popular vegetable and a member of the cabbage family. It is a cruciferous vegetable like cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower. It is a very healthy vegetable that is rich in fiber and some rare antioxidants like beta carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin.

Cooking or frying it in oil that has health benefits makes it a healthy snack. Pairing Kale with olive oil balances the nutrition and gives us a crunchy tasty snack as well.

Dark Chocolate with Almonds.

That’s a mouth-watering combo. Loaded with not only vitamins and minerals, dark chocolate is also a rich source of antioxidants, healthy fats, and fiber. Together it makes a healthy snack giving us a sense of being full as well.

Hard or Soft boiled eggs.

Eggs are one of the healthiest food options that we might have at our disposal. It is laden with nutrients and is very filling due to its high protein content. Though they have high Cholesterol levels too, intake in a moderate quantity could help in strengthening the arteries which can reduce risks related to the heart.

Oatmeal

This is a versatile food and can be a part of any of your meals and snacks. It can be combined and made to taste like anything that one wishes to. Cook it with masalas, onions, tomatoes or cook it with dark chocolates, blend it with your favorite fruit, add it with eggs to make an omelet and you can do so much more.

Roasted Chickpeas

Yet another healthy snack and just the kind you would like to have is roasted chickpeas. Once roasted, it becomes crunchy, tasty fun food. It is well known that chickpeas are a rich source of fiber and proteins. It is something that can be made at home or bought over the counter from your favorite grocery store.

  1. I was wondering if you ever considered changing the layout of your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 images. Maybe you could space it out better?
